Bono is 60

For those who know me, you’ll know that I haven’t spent a lot of my life NOT listening to U2.

Of course, when someone turns 60 during a pandemic – even a multi-billion-dollar rock star – there’s not a lot you can do for a celebration. Except maybe to celebrate music.

In a few days, I’ll have experienced another turn around the sun and I’m inspired by Bono’s list. I’m not necessarily going to say the songs I pick ‘saved my life’ (seemed a little dramatic), but there might be a theme or two related to our current situation with Covid-19, living in lockdown and obsessing about things like life, love, liberty, shopping and food and keeping your distance.

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been busy on this site. It’s got a basic facelift (my WordPress skills are VERY limited), a few tweaks and over the next few weeks as summer creeps in on us, I hope to have some fun with one of my greatest passions in life: music.

I will be taking requests, so to speak, concerning songs that we should talk about. Songs that changed an era of music, a style, region or even new tones unlike anything you’ve ever heard before. Songs that push creativity to the limits. Songs that inspire you. Songs that break your heart. I’ll do my best to get stuff organized, but I will apologize in advance if I miss something you’ve asked for. Of course, feedback, thoughts, ideas and additional context for songs I write about will be warmly received. Disrespectful comments will be deleted.
