Great news!

WAAAAAY back in 2006-2008, I wrote a book. It was technically my first book, but it wasn’t really finished.

Let me explain.

I started Mr. Kite when I was in transition. My wife and I moved to a different part of Ontario. We were just barely getting started at being parents and I got fired from what was pretty much my last ‘corporate’ gig. I started a new business related to digital marketing and had a couple of people I was working with that were ready to call me ‘partner’ (as in, someone who would have a stake in a new agency). They turned on me.

So, I was a little disoriented, to say the least. ‘Cynical’ tends to come up.

I poured all of that energy into writing and came up with my first book, but by the time I was ready to publish it, I was pulled into a completely different business.

At the time, I was able to convince myself that ‘writing is a luxury gig … it’s not a job’ and everything I was working on got shelved. It didn’t help that the infrastructure we have today (contract editors, online AI tools for tweaking copy, self-publishing on platforms like Amazon, cost-effective advertising and much more) didn’t really exist in 2008.

Things have changed.

I’ve embraced the writer in me and I’m doing everything I can to bring that personality for everyone to experience.

Should I add ‘whether they like it or not? Probably not …

What’s It About?

This is a work of fiction related to corporate espionage, religious cults, plutocrats and friends being friends for each other while they navigate through a looming crisis that will shake the international geopolitical structure to the core

‘Mr. Kite’ is the trade name of a guy involved with corporate espionage.

He comes into a gig that opens up a unique world to him: corporate largesse and profiteering; religious cults; severe ‘shock doctrine’ activities and more.

Stay Tuned For More

The rewrite is complete and I’m in the process of finalizing my selection of editor. Ideally, they will be able to help me with several aspects of the story development and assist me with that last push to market.

Look for more updates over the coming months as I cross the i’s and dot the t’s.

Bad Dad joke about why I’m not an editor.
